Dr. Ruth Zuniga

has a PhD in clinical and community psychology with a rural and indigenous emphasis from the University of Alaska. She has been working in collaboration with community-based organizations and community brokers, leaders and traditional health workers to address the mental and emotional health needs of the Latinx community. She has developed and managed multiple culturally specific community-driven programs and grants focused on “bringing mental health” to the Latinx community, removing stigma and supporting mental health access and utilization of services by underserved communities. She has extensive training and experience regarding culturally specific curriculum development, program development and evaluation. 

Dr. Zúñiga serves in several board of directors and advisory boards of Latinx community-based organizations in Oregon. She is a consultant for the Oregon Health Authority in regards to Latinx community mental health and trauma/healing informed care and practices. In addition of being the co-founder of Helyos LLC, she is the cofounder of Raíces de Bienestar, a non-for profit which focused on supporting culturally grounded mental health and wellness services and programs for Latinx. 

Dr. Zúñiga has been teaching, researching, consulting and presenting in the subject of Latinx mental health and wellness and program evaluation for 10 years and has been providing culturally grounded mental health services for over 15 years in the areas of resiliency, immigration, healing and trauma informed care, chronic disease management, and overall mental health concerns. 

She is an associate professor, licensed psychologist and clinical supervisor. She is also the director and founder of Sabiduría: Latinx Psychology Emphasis at Pacific University, an academic and clinical program focused on training culturally informed masters and doctoral level clinicians to work with the Latinx community.

Dr. Andres soria

has over 25 years of experience developing new products and innovations in multiple fields of science and technology. He has been director of an innovation center and professor, and has held multiple managerial/administrative positions for over 15 years in laboratories, academic programs and at specialized centers at private, land grant, sea grant, and space grant institutions of higher learning.

Dr. Soria has served at the National Academy of Science's National Research Council as an expert in R&D for renewable energy, worked as consultant for the International Finance Corporation (The World Bank Group) and Fortune 500 companies in similar capacity.

As a researcher, Dr. Soria has published dozens of articles and book chapters, and has raised millions of dollars from Federal Grants. During his academic career he has built and supported 3 research laboratories and one innovation center from the ground up. 

He has extensive experience with intellectual property, holding patents as co-inventor, and being involved in technology development agreements with private companies, assisting them in developing patents and numerous trade secrets. Dr. Soria also supports and coaches founders of science based startups.

Dr. Soria oversees the IP (Patent) portfolio for Helyos LLC, and provides consultation, R&D and innovation services to select clients.
